You Peel To My Soul

YOU PEEL TO MY SOUL

Yeah, come to me, pluck it out of a tree

Early morning, feeling deeply wrecked

Yeah, you peel to my soul

Tonight beneath guilt, how I wished her away

Nothing looking welcome, maestro out of gas

Yeah, you peel to my soul

Yeah, that big monster you think you are

No one thanks you for being lost

Distance is real

You peel to my soul

Yeah, I have sucked you in, now I’m suffocating

(Your gripping is control)

Go waste waste brilliance

Stopped talking

Slipped out

Yeah you peel to my soul

To my soul

Yeah, that big monster you think you are

No one thanks you for being lost

Distance is real

You peel to my soul

Bianca Vargas of Jaded wrote the lyrics for this song and I wrote the music.  The guitar groove for this song just kind of came to me, but I didn’t have lyrics that seemed to fit.  When Bianca came up with these lyrics, they seemed to be the perfect fit!  It’s Bianca’s voice doing the “Your gripping is control” lyric.  (She didn’t feel comfortable singing lead.)  I love to collaborate with bandmates and peers… two heads are always better than one!
