What Do You Do

WHAT DO YOU DO

Sometimes I wake up in the mornin’

And it’s just another mornin’

I can’t get outta’ bed

Then it’s noon and I’m stuck

And the TV’s on

Don’t even know what I’ve been watching

Then five o’clock rolls around

And by then, I’m so drunk

Maybe I called you and I don’t know it

And so, I say, I ask you

What do you do
What does it feel like

When nobody’s there to hear you

And you think you’re all alone

What do you do

When you’re there out on your own

And you’re just looking for the answers

Trying to find your way home

I hear your phone ring,

It’s your boyfriend

Your face glows alight

Aw, your voice softens up and you ask,

“Hey, what’s taking so long?”
Sweet like cotton candy

Then your eyes grow wide

And you hang up the phone

And so you ask me, yeah

What do you do
What does it feel like

When nobody’s there to hear you

And you think you’re all alone

What do you do

When you’re there out on your own

And you’re just looking for the answers

Trying to find your way home

Sometimes it feels we’re so divided

Haven’t talked to you for weeks

But it’s been like that since you moved to Tucson

You’re at work or something

I know you’ll call me back soon

But I’m flying out next week

Will I get so see you,

Will I get to see you?

I gotta see you

Gotta talk to you

What do you do
What does it feel like

When nobody’s there to hear you

And you think you’re all alone

What do you do

When you’re there out on your own

And you’re just looking for the answers

Trying to find your way home
