The Shining Light

THE SHINING LIGHT

I can see the sadness in your eyes

I can see the hatred in your eyes

We all know, but we don’t care

We believe we’ve been there

To see the shining light, the shining light

To see the shining light

I can see the world spinning ’round

I think it’s a drag ‘cuz you’re so down

Yeah, fears and doubt surround your crown

We all know but we don’t care

We believe we’ve been there

To see the shining light, the shining light

To see the shining light, the shining light

We create our miseries

But we must believe the things we see in the

Shining light

I can see the sadness in your eyes

This song is about that inner light that we all have… but you have to look deep down inside to find it!  This recording was done in Reno with Tom Gordon as the recording engineer/producer.  The “sleeping dragon” sound is actually a vibra-slap recorded & slowed down A LOT.  The other sounds were all created in the studio with Tom, and heavy delay was added at certain parts of the song.  It’s best to listen to this song with headphones to really hear all what’s going on in the song.  A completely different version of The Shining Light was recorded for Annie B & the Vagabond Company’s “Fancies of a Random Heart” in 2011, with a full band and lots of vocal layers.
