Lay Down

LAY DOWN

Lay down everyone

‘Cuz we’ve all been so unkind

Lay down everyone

‘Cuz we’re starting to go blind

Lay down, take off your guard

You don’t need it at this time

So lay down, everyone

And look up at the sky

Yeah, look up at the sky

Too many times, we just walk outside

We just beeline through our lives

Too many times, there’s a passerby

But we just don’t take the time

Now, I have failed, though I have tried

And I’ve come to realize

That the only way to really see the sky

Is to lay down

Yeah, lay down everyone

‘Cuz we’re starting to go blind

Lay down everyone

‘Cuz we’ve all been so unkind

Lay down, take off your guard

You don’t need it at this time

So lay down, everyone

And look up at the sky

Yeah, look up at the sky, yeah

These days, we think the world’s allright

But why do we live in this plutocracy?
(That’s a big word, now)
Our leaders tell us things we like

We’ve lost all our objectivity

To slow down and look deep inside

And be free to ask questions outright

And to lay down, everyone

And look up at the sky (the sky, the sky)

Lay down, everyone, lay down

Lay down, everyone, lay down

Lay down

Lay down

Lay down
